Justice Sector Working Group (JSWG)
The main purpose of the JSWG is to act as a forum for coordination and exchange between donors and the PA on issues related to the justice sector, which comprises the Ministry of Justice, the High Judicial Council and the General Prosecution. The key functions of the JSWG are as follows:
The JSWG reports to the Governance Strategy Group (GSG) on a regular basis.
Membership in the group is limited to donors and other institutions (e.g. non-governmental organizations, academic institutions) who can add substantial financial or analytical value, as well as relevant PA institutions.
Co-Chairs: PA Technical Committee [Ministry of Justice - MoJ, High Judicial Council (HJC) , Attorney General's Office and Ministry of Planning and Administrative Development (MoPAD) - as coordinator] and the Netherlands
Technical Advisor: European Union Police Coordinating Office for Palestinian Police Support (EUPOL COPPS)
PA institutions: Ministry of Interior (MoI) and Sharia Court
Donors: Canada, Office of the European Union Representative (EUREP), France, Germany, Italy, Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Sweden, United Kingdom (UK), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), United States (USAID, USSC)
Observers: Office of the Quartet (OQ)
